This Friday, September 24th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be an opening reception held for David Ivan Clark's new exhibit at the Susan Calloway Fine Art studio.

Clark's exhibit is named "Presence/Absence", and will run from September 24-October 23.  The studio is located at 1643 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20007.

Georgetown's BID site describes Clark and his work as follows:

"David Ivan Clark was born and raised on the vast, untrammeled plains of western Canada. They served as introduction to the natural world and he returns to them for the source of his work. Clark's painting is based in the landscape tradition but it blurs the boundary between representation and abstraction; he is not concerned with re-creating the specifics of place. Rather, his aim is to commemorate and convey the profound experience of immersion in vast, unbounded and silent space."
