Metropolitan Performing Arts Alliance raised $5,000 at their first Annual Benefit Concert to go toward construction of their new Alliance Theatre in Alexandria, Va. After searching for decorative panels and accents and finding the available designs were just more of the same, Tabitha Mahaffey and Patricia Ulliman decided to combine their expertise and form Swank Designs, offering custom lines of pillows, panels and children's bedding. Together, they share a passion for using and incorporating fabrics in unexpected ways.

Washington, D.C.- Jeannie "Kitty of the City” Jones, media personality of WPGC 95.5/Fox 5 News and Ready Set Impact, a multi-media company, hosted  “Grant My Wish” holiday event with her Grant My Wish Foundation December 21st  through the 23rd.  

This weekend long event began on Friday and featured a 24 hour drive at the 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue Starbucks  along with WPGC their radio partner. Rapper T.I. made a special appearance along with US Marines to assist with the toy collection.

Since 2006, the Georgetown Jingle has raised more than 1.5 million for the pediatric oncology programs directed by Dr. Aziz Shad at Georgetown's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Hosted at the Four Seasons, this year's Jingle includes 17 trees and vignettes that were unveiled on November 28th and designed by the area's top designers. Additional events include the December 16th family fundraiser from 1-4 p.m. followed by Jingle the Night Away with Pamala Live! from 7-11 p.m.
