Poutine Party At Rhino Bar | Events
From Wonky Promotions: As thousands campaign throughout Canada to make poutine the national food, DC’s unpretentious foodies have the chance to experience the cheese, fry, and gravy goodness while honoring Canada’s independence. On Friday, June 29th from 7-10PM at Rhino Bar in Georgetown, Wonky Promotions and the Canadian Embassy team up to host DC’s first ever official Poutine Party.
This date is a change from the originally scheduled time of June 7th. Poutine is the delectable combination of natural cut fries, white cheddar squeaky cheese and Canadian gravy. It is a deliciously indulgent dish that originated in Quebec in the late1950s and is prominent across Canada. It is also gaining popularity in the United States in cities such as Washington D.C. Wonky Promotions was founded by Jeff Kelley, who also founded Eat Wonky, DC’s original mobile food truck source of all things poutine.
“While the Wonky Promotions team has been working on a ton of exciting projects since selling Eat Wonky, we wanted to create an event for all the poutine fans out there that have been asking us to bring back the gravy and cheese magic. This will be a fun event and I’m digging up all the best truck mix tapes to set the ambience right.” said Jeff.
The Poutine Party combines all that delectable french fried goodness with a magnificent open bar featuring local brews from Chocolate City, as well as Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Sam Adams, Sam Adams Seasonal, Yuengling and Corona. Liquor includes Cuervo, Bacardi, Smirnoff, and more!
Participants will be able to customize their own poutine while partaking in open bar revelry!
Poutine enthusiasts can get tickets available in limited quantity at www.eventstir.org/events/poutine for only $25. Door tickets will be $35 if tickets remain. As a part of the event, Wonky Promotions is supporting the new DC-based ticketing startup Eventstir.
