Son dies after fatally stabbing father, say police | News
WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police say a man accused of killing his father and injuring his mother in a stabbing in Georgetown has died.
According to police, 56-year-old Bradford Elliott died of cardiac arrest at a local hospital. Police say Elliott was being treated for injuries sustained during the stabbing of his parents at their home in Georgetown.
Officers responded to the 3300 block of Q Street, NW for the report of a stabbing on Sunday. When officers entered the house, they found a man and woman in their 80s suffering from stab wounds, police say.
According to officers on the scene, the man was unconscious. Both people were transported to a hospital where the man was pronounced dead. Police later identified the man who was killed as 88-year-old Leroi Elliott of Northwest D.C. He was a former public relations executive for a petro-chemical giant based in Saudi Arabia.
His wife Vaughn Elliot was in serious but stable condition. Her father, Lorenzo Wilson, was the official White House architect for many years.
Police say they arrested Bradford Elliot inside the house and recovered the murder weapon. Police say he has a long history of mental illness.
