WASHINGTON, DC – Council Chairman Kwame R. Brown has announced David Zvenyach’s appointment as acting general counsel. Upon confirmation by the full Council, he will be named general counsel for the body.
Zvenyach has been serving as chief of staff in Councilmember Mary Cheh’s office since August 2008. He is a graduate of The George Washington University Law Center and the University of Wisconsin, where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Following law school, Zvenyach clerked for Chief Judge of the US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Yvette Kane. His work experience also includes the Office of the Inspector General at the National Science Foundation and the law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP in Washington, DC. He is a member of the District of Columbia and New York Bars.
