Dept. of Motor Vehicles Georgetown Service Center Closure And Temporary Relocation

Dept. of Motor Vehicles Georgetown Service Center Closure And Temporary Relocation

Due to construction at the Georgetown Park Mall, the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicle (DC DMV) Service Center located at 3222 M Street, NW, will close on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 4:00pm.  Although DC DMV will open a temporary service center location, it will not be operational until two weeks later.  Therefore, customers are encouraged to “skip the in-person” trip and conduct their transactions online at dmv.dc.gov.  This recommendation will prevent extremely long lines at the other two service center locations.

From Monica Hernandez: The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced it will implement a new program designed to improve access for persons with disabilities to businesses and services in the commercial areas of the District.  Starting later this month the District will provide reserved metered parking spaces for persons with disabilities at distinctive “red top” meters.  This new program sets aside curbside parking spaces for the exclusive use by persons with disabilities and eliminates the free parking in metered spaces that has become a prime incentive behind the fraudulent use of disabled parking placards and license plates.
