Photo Gallery | An Affair of the Heart: Luncheon & Fashion Show To Benefit The American Heart Association Greater Washington
Over 1200 people dressed in red flooded the beautiful Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, in Washington, D.C., on Monday for the 64th Annual “An Affair of the Heart," luncheon and fashion show benefitting heart research and education.
The luncheon and fashion show, presented by the Women’s Board of the American Heart Association Greater Washington Region, is the oldest continuous fundraising event of any nationally recognized non-profit charity in D.C., and has funded 34 research grants totaling over two million dollars since 2004.
“Our primary mission is to raise funds for lifesaving heart research, the number-one killer among women, and to raise awareness of cardiovascular health issues among women,” explained the Women’s Board Chairman, Darby Gingery.
The Best of Saks' Fashion Show featured bright, bold colors and prints from Spring 2012’s top designer collections.
In conjunction with heart disease awareness month taking place throughout February, Saks will participate in a charity partnership with the American Heart Association. Customers are asked to visit the Chevy Chase store and open an account. Once registered, five percent of purchases will go to the charity they select.
